Continued the review of the February 4, 2012 interview between David Wheaton and Masters College Professor Dr. Varner on Genesis 12:1-3 and Christian Zionism.

Began reviewing the February 4, 2012 interview of Dr. Varner by David Wheaton at The Christian Worldview blog.

I briefly forgot to mention the small observation that the U.S. didn’t always support Israel/the Jews, even during WWII (e.g., when the US didn’t adjust its immigration laws to compensate for the outflow of Jews from Europe until FDR finally caved in in January of 1944).

Finally finished responding to Dr. Jeremiah’s sermon on Zionism, and also responded to remarks by David Barton (Wallbuilders).

Shared some reflections on a recent door-to-door encounter with some Jehovah’s Witnesses. Reviewed some more of Dr. Jeremiah’s sermon on Christian Zionism.

Finally back on air. Re-introduced the subject of Christian Zionism, and made a comparison/analogy between modern dispensational thought with King James Onlyism.

Went through another clip of Koukl and explained some more details of the libertarian/sovereignty debate. Then we talked what what expository preaching is and is not, and why preachers refuse to do it.

Review portions of an STR podcast from Greg Koukl (September 4, 2011). He gave a somewhat unexpected answer to a simple question (“Does God decree all that comes to pass?”) which launched us into Reformed theology etc.

Finally finishes reviewing some of Peter Enns’ material. He made the radical assertion that classic Protestants who defend against attacks on Scripture (e.g. Higher criticism) are “emotionally” and “spiritually dysfunctional,” not to mention “wounded.” Not kidding…

Covered more of Enns’ lecture at the 2010 Silvers Scholars Conference. Things get more and more liberal…

I’ve had some trouble in the podcast feed and I think by God’s grace it might be fixed.

Some of you have reported having inconsistent results in the list of shows in itunes when you’ve subscribed. Well I think the problem has to do with the feed address. So, do this: delete the podcast from itunes and start over, going to “Advanced” (in iTunes) and “subscribe to podcast,” then put in:

This should fix problems.

The old address was advertised on the podcast website as http://www.realapologetics.org/podcasts/?feed=podcast. That’s wrong, and that I think that’s what’s caused some issues. I changed my client in the middle of last year or something and didn’t know my feed URL changed.

If you have any other complaints send me your concerns, I want to make sure things are running smoothly.

Pete Enns gave a lecture at a conference back in October of 2010 on the topic of the Bible and higher criticism. Great review for studying inerrancy and doctrine of Scripture. We didn’t get into his material yet in this part.

More lecture review.

Got into a little bit more of Schieber’s lecture, though not as much as I had planned. Went off on a tangent about “Christian philosophy.”

Finished a brief tangent on submission, authority, feminism, chauvinism, and corruptions of masculinity and femininity.

Brief tangent on doctrine of gender, etc. Dealt with Genesis text and some basic issues of anthropology.

Reviewed a few small segments of the Las Vegas debate cross-examination on unconditional election. Saw a good example of just confusing the audience and avoiding the main issues.

Reviewed rebuttal and cross examination portions of the Las Vegas debate, and saw some break-down of Arminian theology.

Reviewed the rebuttal period of Jordan Fishel in the unconditional election debate. Dealt with some incredible assertions and serious eisegesis on Romans 9 – yet are very typical of common Arminians.

Reviewed some more of the Perseverance debate. Included closing statements.

Reviewed critical portions (the “fruit”) of the Perseverance debate that occurred this past Sunday (April 17, 2011).

Did some house-keeping items (projects, updates, etc.) and went on a tangent about pastoral qualifications, TR-Onlyism and Pastor Riddle’s faulty doctrine of Scripture (textual criticism and the canon), and next week’s debates in Vegas.

Reviewed a podcast interview with Jim Wallis (pleaseconvinceme.com); discussed the importance of treating the Scriptures as God’s Word and not merely as eye-witness accounts.
