More Christian Figures Decline the Manhattan Declaration

RC Sproul has broken the silence here, declining to sign the Declaration. Sproul is the author of over 100 books, the founder of Ligonier Ministries, and the host of Renewing Your Mind Radio. Michael Horton (Ph.D Oxford) also did not sign, Professor of Apologetics at Westminster Seminary and host of The White Horse Inn. And Stand to Reason ministries out of Southern California declined (“split decision on our staff”), although the President, Greg Koukl, “was in favor of it.”

I might add, that I was particularly disturbed by Chuck Colson’s comment: “This document is, in fact, a form of catechism for the foundational truths of the faith.” Despite Colson’s good intentions (Colson is a strong presuppositionalist by the way), the Manhattan Declaration is anything but a confession of faith, a catechistic standard for the Christian faith.
